The Shaper Form MEZRAQ is a medium-narrow American-style oboe shape, specifically developed for use with the Reeds 'n Stuff shaping machine. It produces reeds with a full, resonant vibration, combining depth, stability and clarity.
The shape features a slight flare from the middle of the belly, remaining almost parallel towards the top. The recommended tying length is 73 mm when used with a 47 mm Chiarugi 2 oboe staple. The tying length may need to be adjusted depending on the staple used.
Dr. Mezraq Ramli, Professor of Oboe at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, particularly enjoys pairing this shape with the gold-plated Chiarugi 2E staples.
