Mark Chudnow is an American oboe maker who specializes primarily in accessories for reed making. He is particularly well known for his innovative developments in the field of staples. His full metal staples are one example: they differ from traditional models with cork covering by allowing more vibration, thereby influencing both the playing feel and the sound. The internal bore of the Chudnow staple corresponds to that of the Chiarugi 2+, which means that the corresponding Chiarugi 2+ mandrel can be used without any issues. In direct comparison, the Chudnow S sounds slightly softer and more muted than the Chudnow E.
