These standard sets of reed making tools are assembled in three incremental sizes, based on the needs of bassoonists at various stages in their reed making journey. They are designed for everyone from the beginning reed maker to those who are looking for a complete set of high-quality professional tools.

Reed Making Set STARTER contains everything the beginning reed maker will need to learn to how to adjust their reeds. It is our most basic set, providing you with quality reed making products at affordable prices to help get your reed making journey started.

Reed Making Set STUDENT is our medium-sized reed making set containing all the tools you will need to get started building your own reeds by hand. Form the blanks with our Anti-Crack and Forming Mandrels, fit the tube to your bocal with the Spiral and Diamond Reamers, and adjust your reeds with the file. Use the holding mandrel to keep your hands safe and ensure maximum control. A selection of popular knives has been provided that can be added to the set.

Reed Making Set PRO is the largest of our standard reed making sets. This set contains all the hand tools you need to make and adjust your reeds from start to finish. Score the tube with our scoring tool, form the blanks with our Anti-Crack and Forming Mandrels, and fit the tube to your bocal with the Spiral and Diamond Reamers. Then adjust your reeds with the file while using the holding mandrel to keep your hands safe and ensure maximum control. Finish up by cleaning your files and reamers with the reed tool brush. A selection of popular knives has been provided that can be added to the set.

Note: Only the Reed Making Set STARTER contains a knife. We have included our ceramic folding knife as it is lightweight, low-cost, and does not require sharpening. The upgraded sets do not contain a knife as there are many options from which to choose. We have provided a list of the available knives with the upgraded sets, to help you easily add one to your set of choice.
