Clarinettists and saxophonists dream of reeds with ideal playing and sound characteristics. This book “Das Klarinettenblatt. Das Saxophonblatt. - Bauanleitung” shows how this dream can be realized. It is a construction manual for building reeds from ground up. The internal laws of cane wood are described from the cultivation to the finished reed, and are made known and utilized in order to generate the best possible sound and playing characteristics.
This textbook is equally practicable for all playing levels: for students, for professional orchestral musicians and soloists as well as for all amateurs. The instructions are transferable to all instrument sizes and also to historical instruments.
