Create your own template, perfectly tailored to your individual needs. Send us reeds to copy, measurements, or your ideas, and we will turn your dream into reality. Additionally, we will engrave the template with a name of your choosing to making it truly unique.

When you order you also have the choice to give us permission to potentially include the template in our catalog of templates available for others to purchase. Alternately you can request that this template remains a one-off for your exclusive use.

When used in conjunction with the tip profiling machine, our templates give your reeds precise and consistent contours. In this manner your reeds always start with the same scrape. It is perfect for musicians who value both quality and customizability.

You've had your great idea, designed it in CurvaSURE, and are ready to test it in the real world. But how will you print it out? No worries!

Simply upload the STL file to your order and we will produce it for you – including all the screws and bobs you need to have it work. You'll have a working prototype in no time – all you have to think about is the design, not production. Once you're sure you have your shape dialed in, then you can even order it produced in metal for that long lasting quality.

Note: pleasure ensure the bolt option "M5 (Hex) is selected before exporting and uploading the file.

Usage Note:

Our printed Straight Shaper has been specifically designed for testing the Shaper Form. Due to mechanical abrasion during the shaping process, the plastic material may change over time. The dimensional accuracy of the Shaper Form cannot be guaranteed over an extended period of use. We recommend shaping a maximum of 20 canes with one printed Straight Shaper.

Durable & Precise

The production of our Straight Shapers requires the highest level of precision and involves several elaborate machining steps. Modern CNC technology ensures an exact contour and consistently high quality.

Combined with a specially tailored hardening process, this results in exceptionally dimensionally stable and durable tools. The result is a hand-operated reed shaper that enables precise, comfortable, and reproducible work.

The pair of engraved lines on the sides mark the narrowest point of the shape and are an important tool for precise shaping. For optimal shape transfer, shape from both sides towards this narrowest point.

The outermost lines are to help center shorter cane (118 mm for bassoon, 148 mm for contrabassoon).

Thanks to the silicone tips, both gouged and profiled cane can be shaped.
The silicone tips secure the thinner parts of the profiled cane in the center and prevent the cane from slipping.

The silicone tips can be removed and replaced as desired, especially when shaping unprofiled cane.
