MALZER SUPPORT 78.00 €

Greater Relief. More Freedom of Movement.

The MALZER SUPPORT is an innovative support system for English horn. It takes on a large part of the instrument's weight, noticeably relieving the hands, arms, and shoulders while playing.

The individually adjustable support point allows for optimal adaptation to the instrument and playing position. This allows the fingers, particularly those of the right hand, to move freely without additional strain. This supports precise, relaxed, and natural playing.

By specifically redistributing the instrument's weight, the MALZER SUPPORT can also contribute to a more ergonomic playing position and help reduce the typical strain caused by the instrument.

The Perfect Connection

The MALZER SUPPORT System is specifically designed for use with the ZAPPATINI Strap.

The ZAPPATINI Strap is not included and must be purchased separately.

For Lessons, Practice, and Concerts

Whether in lessons, during daily practice, or in professional concert settings, the MALZER SUPPORT provides greater comfort and freedom of movement, allowing you to focus even more on your playing and musical performance.

The BHOB is a thin, adjustable telescoping support peg that attaches to any thumbrest with a rin. It can be attached to and removed from the instrument in seconds. During playing, it rests on the chair between the legs of the performer, relieving a significant portion of the weight of the instrument from the thumb. This brass peg may be adjusted for Oboe of 28 - 53 cm. As the BHOB attaches to the thumbrest and rests on the seat, there is no interference with sound production. The instrument, including the instrument support peg, can be placed on an instrument stand.

My arms and shoulders are freer than ever
with the Reeds 'n Stuff new english horn support.
From now on I will always use it.
I tried it for the first time in our Debussy program
under Maestro Daniel Barenboim.
The physical freedom it rendered gave my tone
a greater roundness and more power.
I am sensing more projection with less work,
especially in the middle range,
and my dynamic range is considerably wider.

An Unimagined Ease of Play.

The needs of instrumentalists and instrument makers worldwide are our inspiration for product improvement and innovation.

Our english horn support is the result of this philosophy. The weight of the instrument and being aware of the resulting stress for tendons, muscles and joints was at the very beginning of our development. We have created an uncomplicated support allowing to play the english horn more comfortably.

- The english horn support minimizes the tension whilst practicing and playing. Hands, arms and shoulders are relieved, allowing an unimagined ease of play. The sound is not affected.
- The main part of the support is made of maple. A round cord made of indian rubber gives the right hold, attached wooden balls make sure the resonance of the instrument is promoted.
- The metal thorn supplies a safe stand. Alike a cello spike it transfers the vibrations on the stage floor. Its adjustable length is set by a non slip screw.
