The tip profiling machine is the most efficient machine
for creating the profile in the front half of the reed.

This machine allows you to precisely produce a symmetrical and playable reed,
using our many available templates.

Built of high-quality anodized aluminum and a special german steel,
the tip profiling machine is built to last for many years.
Linear ball bearings provide a comfortable user experience.

A sharp blade, always.

Dull blades interrupt your flow – and resetting blade height every time you change one is exactly the kind of friction that breaks your concentration. The Blade 360° solves both problems. When the cutting edge dulls, simply rotate to the next sharp section and carry on – at least six times per blade. And because the blade height is set once from the underside and stays locked, changing edges never throws off your setup.

Prepared for Transport

Prepare your tip profiler for transport.

Insert the mandrel into the designated hole on the left side, screw the wooden handle into the threaded hole on the right side, and lock the carriage into place with the transport locking screw on the left side of the machine.

The Reeds 'n Stuff transport case features a simple design that's easy to use.
The foam interior allows for safe transport and provides a snug fit. The tools to adjust the machine can be stored in the zipper compartment on top of the case. The handle provides portability wherever you need it.

The scoring blades automatically disappear behind this blade protection when folded, contributing to injury-free working.

Thanks to the new transport lock, the machine is now ready to accompany you on your travels
without the risk of damage.

Please make sure to take the barrel out of the machine for transport.

Cut - Perfect

The principles of the Reeds 'n Stuff guillotine guarantee perfect cuts.

Using the millimeter scale, including markings for common bassoon and contrabassoon reed lengths, you can select any length desired.

Reeds with a width of up to 22 mm can be cut with the guillotine.

If needed, the hardened steel cutting unit can be resharpened by us.

Ready to Roll

This pregouging machine will prolong the life of your gouging machine by reducing wear on your blades.

Rotating the handle pushes the cane through the blades. After pre-gouging, you will only need about five passes on your gouging machine and you are ready to roll!

The patented circular blade gouges the cane to nearly finished thickness and can be rotated several times for years of use.

For comfort and safety, the included C-clamp holds the machine securely to a table edge.

Simple and Powerful

The R'S gouging machine is easy to use while offering all the control you need. With the turn of a screw the cane bed moves up and down to adjust the thickness, and the extremely durable, extra hard steel blade can be used with dry or soaked cane. Spring-loaded arms and tensioned bed ends hold the cane securely in place.

The bassoon bed has a diameter of 25 mm and can gouge cane up to 26 mm in diameter. The contrabassoon bed has a diameter of 32 mm and can gouge cane up to 33 mm in diameter.

Available in concentric or eccentric setups, the axle can also be shifted to gouge the sides thinner or recenter the blade.

Use the engraved lines to mark the center of your gouge as well as the two outside lines.

These will help you center your profile and your shape over the gouge, ensuring symmetry throughout the entire reed making process.

The cane splitter is a practical device mounted on a solid base. The crystal clear acrylic housing protects your hands and makes it easy to choose the perfect spot. At the same time, the cylinder catches the split cane pieces.

Position the cane – one strike of the included rubber hammer splits the tube. The durable blades ensure clean and splinter free cuts.
