„Understanding the Oboe Reed“ by Graham Salter has become a key literature in the oboe world. In chapter 14 Salter analyses numerous reeds of famous oboists. To determine their measurements Graham uses a specific tongue on the dial indicator. The marks on this tongue are 1,8mm apart from each other. Today most producers do not use these measurements anymore. Mostly the marks distance is in mulitples of 1 mm(E.g. 2 or 3mm). Here we offer a new edition of this Tongue for you. You can easily compare your own measurements to those mentioned in Salters book. The exchange of the tongue of Reeds’n Stuff dial indicators can easily be done by you.
